A superb driving course along the beautiful lakeside The largest exclusive water supply dam in Korea
Unmun Dam, which is 55m high and 407m long, has the lake level area of 7.83㎢ when filled to the brim. This is the largest exclusive water supply dam in Korea. Completed in 1996, the dam can hold 135,000,000 tons of water, supplying quality clean water not only for Cheongdo-gun but also neighboring areas such as Daegu, Gyeongsan and Yeongcheon.
National Road 20 and Local Road 69 running northward and eastward surround the three sides of the dam and are well known as a driving course along the beautiful lakeside. Passing around the water gate of Unmun Dam and running toward Eonyang, you can find Unmunsa Temple, a historic old temple built during the Silla Dynasty.
At the entrance of the dam, the road diverges into two: one leads to Gyeongju and the other to Ulsan.
