A scientific architecture with the ancestors' wisdom
This man-made ice storage was used to store natural ice formed in the winter to be used during spring, summer and fall. Seokbinggo is said to have been used since early Silla Dynasty and this particular ice storage was made during the 39th year of Joseon Dynasty’s King Sukjong (1713). This is the oldest ice storage among the six remaining ice storages in the country.
