From the time it opened in 1948, Ieseo Farmers' Market played an important role in supplying necessities for the residents whose transportation was inconvenient. Currently the market is mainly used as a meeting place for the residents. The whole area of Iseo-myeon is known to have been Iseo-guk (country) in the age of the Three Kingdoms. Iseo-myeon is where Cheongdo Bullfighting Festival is held, and it has specialties such as Cheongdo Bansi (seedless persimmon) and Cheongdo peaches.
