Breath of a millenium, the greatest Buddhist seminary for educating female Buddhist priests

As a millennial temple located in Mt. Hogeosan, Unmunsa Temple is a branch temple of Donghwasa Temple, which is the 9th parish of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It was founded in during the Silla Danasty, in the 21st year of King Jinheung’s reign (560), and was initially called Daejakgapsa. It was reconstructed by Buddhist priests Won-gwang and Seolsong, and had taught many Buddhist priests. Now, it is known as a college for Buddhist nuns. Recently, they made a trail through the woods around the entrance of Unmunsa Temple, so visitors can also walk through old pine trees and enjoy the coolness of Unmuncheon Stream.
